Title: how do you remove the glass mount from door mirror?
Post by: drmick on 21 January 2012, 09:33:30 AM
Was driving round M25 and the glass fell off my door mirror, not quite sure how but looks like the glue has just degraded as the mount was still intact with the heating element. So I've ordered a replcement just wondering is there a special way to remove the previous mount from the motor in the housing?

I had the other side broken by a lorry a few years ago and noted how fragile the motor was so I don't want to break it when I remove the old one.

Thanks for any tips

Michael

Cheers trenchfoot - that all looks very simple, just need to find a screwdriver to ease off the clip then I can go and put the new one on

Thanks

I have not done any job like this myself but by all accounts I think it needs to be taken slowly and gently.

Good luck. Let us know how it went!

All done - nice and simple, hardest bit was disconnecting the power cables for the heating element

Thanks again for posting the link to the instructions
