Could you please help me with the following queries? I have a 2003 SAAB 93 the original fob is beginning to fail (specifically the button that closes the central locking and engages the alarm etc). This is the original fob and blade. I have a couple of questions:
1. Can I get a replacement fob programmed with just the one blade?
2. If I need an additional blade, is it possible to have a functioning blade supplied so that I can secure a programmed fob?

By Blade, do you mean the manual door release key? If so, I think you'll find that the "blade" piece is separate from the electronic button part. In principle, you can just order the electronic part and swap the blade over. As far as I am aware, the electronic part is ordered "un programmed" and then married to the car.

the fob is single use only,used fobs cannot be married to another car..the fobs & blades are sold individually..

The 9-3 sport saloon does have a single use key.
But what's wrong with your key. If it's just the rubber buttons, you can buy a new plastic case. It's a bit hard to press the buttons, but it works and it's about £10 on ebay. I bought this for our car and it's OK. Just get the case and change over the internal bits.

If you have problems with the microswitches on the circuit board, that's a different problem.
You can order replacement microswitches to solder on to the circuit board for the 9-3 key, it's also possible to get unprogrammed flash chips to solder on so you can reuse an old key by reprogramming it with Tech-2. Both require a very steady hand and patience and the correct soldering iron.
