Joe did say it was a tight squeeze but was glad to be reunited with the car...

Now I have to book the car for the nearside rear door to be tidied up, and then the horn, need to try the 15 amp fuse (wonder if I have any spare in the Golf...).

if that doesn't work then front off and replace... I'll check if Ron Saab Leeds has some horns from the NGs he's been breaking lately.

I had the same issue and found a loose vacuum hose behind the throttle body—once I reconnected it properly, the idle smoothed out and throttle response improved.

I think you've replied in the wrong topic... anyway, welcome to STT.

Driving to Goodwood via Worthing on Saturday night, for Sunday's Revival I had just put some fuel in the car at Sainsbury's Richmond when at a crossing - green for me and red for her - a small child ran out emergency STOP!  Parent couldn't care less.  Afterwards I notice brakes didn't have quite the same 'feel'...

Got to Dorking, noticing more effort was needed to get the car to stop - brake fluid low warning came on.  Called the AA and after waiting 23 mins to talk to an operator cancelled the call (was on roadside) and decided to go to the local Esso in Leatherhead to top up the brake fluid which just about got me to Worthing.  Called the AA again on Saturday night, and after 2 time adjustments got a call saying no technicians were available and could we wait until 1st thing Sunday....(I get the AA via my bank account).

Good job we had somewhere to stay otherwise it would have been a cold night in the car, and OHs friend lent me her Mini for Sunday.

Sunday, AA comes and technician looks under the car and says fluid all over the place, the pipe has obviously burst.  We'll tow it to a garage of your choice or home.  I said Joe's in Epsom. Turns out he had known Joe for a long time and I left Joe a message to say the car was being left with him.  AA then arranged a rental car which meant I could get back home.

Although I was very dismayed by the AA on Saturday, they redeemed themselves on Sunday.  Technician was professional.
People on FB who've seen my post have commented on the dual brake circuit and that I should have been able to continue without issue - even Joe said this is rare on a Saab.
The rental car - Citroen C4 - pitiful, awful, dreadful, horrid.  That 1.2 Puretech engine only words that can be moderated out can be used to describe it.  Much as we scorn General Motors and GM-era Saabs and Vauxhall I think Stellantis is far worse...

Got a stonechip on my NG9-5 windscreen.  Repair job I thought but National Windscreens thought it was replacement.  Photos sent to 'control' let's see what they say.  Let's hope they don't beat Autoglass's record of 14 months!

I had a look in the manual, there are 2 separate fuses for the horn  and it looks like one has burnt out, but doesn't look like there are any spares in the car, so I will have to buy some fuses and check this first...surprisingly there seemed to be no fuses where I expected some to be (mirror heating being one)...

will report back after my trip to Austria

noticed yesterday the horn on my NG is now single tone, wanting to berate the little toerag in his Polo who had his head down looking at his lap rather than the road in front of him, lost count of the number of times he had to brake suddenly.

So, who knows about NG9-5 horns - single units or 2? easy replacement?  Guess same item as Insignia.

Commiserations. I've had some near misses along those lines. Wondering if your car is configured to auto lock immediately on closing or something? In mine, if I blip the boot only open (i.e. with main doors remaining locked), and then close it, it stays open for about a minute - you then hear it self-lock a bit later. So I'm wondering if that's the default and in your case you only realised after the grace period, or if it's something you can set via Tech-II - in which case you might want to!

On the NG, depending on whether the car is so equipped, you can open the boot and unlock the passenger cabin simply by pulling the handles if the keys are in close proximity.  For the boot, it's a case of use it once close the boot and it stays locked, but the passenger cabin all doors are unlocked (and maybe the boot).  My mistake was to go to the boot, before going to the driver's door.

Got a price on getting the rear NS door of my NG9-5 repainted.  Same guys who fixed my older Saabs after self-inflicted mishaps in the past.

This one is to repair a 'historical' 'bodge'.  When I picked up Helga in early 2017 I was aware the door was a slightly darker shade compared to rear NS quarter and front door.  Never bothered me, it is only in the last year that the lacquer had deteriorated such that the finish was rough and the door looked pretty dire (same as my old 99)... So it's a repaint job with blending will be done late summer/early autumn just to make the car more saleable when the dreaded day comes.  Just under £800.

of using keyless entry to access the boot without unlocking the rest of the car first.

Keys were in bag that I placed in the boot, along with my phones and house keys.  At work.

Closed the boot and realised I was unable to unlock the rest of the car.  I was in shorts, that have pathetically shallow pockets, so otherwise I would have not put them in my bag.  Of course, the boot is its' own Faraday cage.

Spares were 28.6 miles away.  So, bus to Bracknell, train to Richmond, wait for SWMBO to get home from work, collect keys, take train back to Bracknell and as the last bus to Maidenhead had long departed resorted to a taxi....  £30 altogether.

So, I had to forego taking part in the work quiz, my team didn't do well without me, and set off for North Wales 60 mins later than planned.

Won't make that mistake again (batteries were flat in the spare but was able to open the car, set off alarm, start her up and retrieve the main set).... :-[

unlike being permanently banned from UKSaabs....perhaps they didn't like my critique of the Driver magazine

Not today, but yesterday....

Washed Helga, bought the Hydro snow foam gear as part of black friday deals last year.  Complete waste of money... Car was still totally mucky after the pressure wash, the chamois was totally manky.

Went to Goodwood, usually check out the book stores on Saab or NSU related books... Hudson Books had a copy of a book about the 900 Turbo (3,4 and 5 doors, plus the 99) for £35.  Never knew such a book existed.  Written by Graham Robson presumably around 1984 as no mention of the 2-door 900s....  Another one for the collection. :D

Speaking to Joe in Epsom last week.  Sourcing parts from 'official' Saab channels is not a big problem for him, his bigger beef is with Vauxhall - much as we 'loved' the old General support from PSA and more recently Stellantis for the old GM products is not that good.
