Thanks for your response Audax.
They have been on the car for 3 years.

I would agree with you if the both coil springs were the same, but as both have settled differently, I'd say there is a problem.

Fine, forget the SOGA. Forget the legal crud and just look at the springs. Should a manufacturer not care??
LOOK AT THEM!!!

Anyway, Koni don't care. UK distributor don't care. I have to foot the bill unless I fancy a long argument and wasted time.

Not that I've had any interest here but:

I've discussed with Koni (ITT) and the response is so far incredibly unsympathetic. Despite the fact I can prove the mileage, they actually don't care. I have put it to them that under the sale of goods act (1979) the springs could be considered to be faulty or of inferior quality, but they haven't responded since their response to my initial email on the 11th.
I've given them one more chance before I post images up and a bit more detail but so far things don't look rosy at all.

Quite disappointing really.
They just don't seem to care.

Hi all. Could you take a glance at the below picture and tell me your thoughts.

It shows the rear underside of my y2k 9-3 vert. It has covered 16k miles with these springs and shocks (koni adjustable) and has just failed its MOT on account of them sagging.

1) do you agree these are unservicable?
2) what sort of lifespan would you expect from Konis?
3) corrosion considered, am i fair in tarring koni here with poor quality?

I'll be in touch with Koni UK shortly but wanted some input from you guys first really.

This image is with the car on level ground.
I have also posted on saabscene so will pass feedback between sites.
Many thanks in advance.

Classic Saab 9-3 & GM900 (MY 1994-2002/03CV) / Re: wheel resprays

Painting wheels black make tyres look more grey.

You'll find yourself getting through an awful lot of 'tyre blackener'!

That said, I agree, it looks ace.
Rather than painting, have you considered powder coating? It's far more resiliant to tyre changes and winter.

Had mine done a month ago.
Fantastic improvement.

Car also now has the Abbot clamp and brace fitted, lowered 20mm on Konis, running 18" wheels and has a subframe brace (built by yours truly out of 1/4" steel bar).

This thing eats corners now :D

S'alright mate :P

It never happened...

Anyhow, possibly looking to reschedule late August sometime. Maybe some others will tag along.

I didn't dare...
Depending on where you're based, I've got some spare fluid here (Kent).

Who fancies a meet up this Sunday afternoon?

SAAB 900SE TALLADEGA TURBO (on the Saabscene site) and I are looking to meet at a pub or similar during the week for drink and a chat. I'm based in Biggin Hill (Kent) and SAAB 900SE TALLADEGA TURBO is in the Sidcup area.

Venue can be moved out into Kent if there is interest from farther afield.

Would be great to meet with a few owners of rag-top and hard-top GM saabs

Please post below if you are interested.
