Hi All,

I don't drive my car much, so only just got round to disconnecting the battery today.  It's a TurboX, so 2008 with the new dash, didnt "bing bong" or display anything on the SID.

Anyway I disconnected the battery for for a minute or so and no difference, still couldn't turn back on the ESP.  I drove the car about 2-3 miles, switched it off for an hour or two and when I went to start it again it'd had fixed itself.

I've had a look in a copy of the WIS and it says if my car wasn't XWD, then i'd need a software update, so who knows.  I'll just have to hope it doesnt happen again.

cheers for all the advice.

I used a generic fault code reader. Does tech-2 come with those, ahem, ebay copies of the WIS?

I'll try disconnecting the battery tonight, that's sorted it before when the electrics last went nuts, otherwise it might need a trip to the dealers.

When I tried to google it, I could only find people asking how to disable ESP all the time (i.e. how mine is now), i fully except that i lack the driver skill to have it switched off.

Hi All,
My ESP off light came on while i was driving.  Went to switch it back on and it wont turn, just changes back to off.  No error codes shown/recorded.  Any ideas?

I'll try disconnecting the battery tomorrow and see if that sorts it.

cheers

i'm not saying it's out, I just wanted to find out if i needed to take the car to a main dealer with  tech2 if anyone touches the tracking.

BTW i've noticed the sound is worse in the wet or after it's been raining.

thanks very much for the help, thought i was going mad looking through the manual trying to find the info about resetting after having the racking done.

Hi All,

I was getting a rub/ humming sound when taking left turns at town/car park speeds (though driving a little faster than you should, i.e. making a last minute decision to turn left) but not a speed you wouldn't see other people driving!

I thought it might be a bush gone up front or something rotating as it doesn't do it all the time.  Anyway I kept trying to replicate it (making quick left turns) and it got worse and worse, then i figured that as I recently had my rear diff replaced and figure the tracking might not be right, which is causing uneven tyre wear, and the noise i'm getting. So i swapped the tyres on that side front/back and the noise is nowhere near as bad now, back to how it was when i first noticed it. So i'm thinking it's tracking now or a wheel/suspension alignment problem of some sort.

I vaguely remember reading somewhere that coz of the XWD I need to get the computer reset using tech2 after having the wheel alignment done, is this right or have i just imagined it?

cheers in advice for any advice.

p.s. I had to replace my TurboX spliter, if you buy one it comes with the rivits to fix it, you dont need to buy extra  ::)
p.p.s. Is Turners Hill saab any good?
