2.2 TiD Alternator replacement
« on: 25 August 2012, 10:11:58 PM »
Had a quick look on the WIS and it starts by putting the car up and going in from the underside.  Anyone done it from above?  Just wondering if I can save a bit of time as putting the car up on the ramps for a couple of bolts appears to be a bit of a faff.

Got a new one for £135 which appeared to be a bargain.

The reason it says to put the car in the air is to get to the drive belt side of things through the access cover, I think it's still achievable from above just more likely to result in losing bits of skin from knuckles :)

It depends what you mean by ramps too, you'd need to take the front wheel off to get through the access cover.
