Driver window on a 1999 9-3 Vert

I've got a 1999 9-3 convertible with driver side door problems. First the window motor "hammers" going up. Second the window does not go all the way up. How do I adjust the glass height? Why is it "hammering" so bad, and how do I fix it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The weak point on Saab windows is the small green roller in the mechanism.  If it's broken, replace it.  Genuine Saab ones are the only ones that work.

Shop said the regulator was bad, wants to much to fix it. Can the regulator be fixed? Is there new gear available for the motor?
