Been researching the owner's manual - no joy. Checked internet - no joy. Question. Is the vanity mirror lighting in the visors linked to the system which switches off interior lights if the doors are left open for longer than approx 20 mins? Reason for asking is that last week we visited our daughter, S-I-L and grandson and when we arrived, unknown to me, OH had checked that her hair was looking presentable and had left the mirror open and therefore its lights on. Not only did I not notice this when exiting the car, but I also did not notice if the lighting was on when we got back in the car some 9 hours later. (I reckon if the lights had still been on I would have seen them out of the corner of my eye) However, after starting up the car, I looked over to see if she needed any help with the door (they are heavy and there is a very slight slope on the drive) and noticed the lights on. I reckon they had switched off after we arrived; the engine spun into life easily.

I think that all the interior lights go off after a few seconds.  Controlled by the I-Bus. Via the body control module.  The door puddle lights are on the same circuit.  And they go off after a few seconds.

In a previous car - a Ford Galaxy - the lights stayed on if the lid was open.  We found that the lid had been broken and glued up. But when it was shut, it didn't trigger the off switch.  It got so hot under the lid that the visor melted!! :o

Thanks for that Will - I have now apologised to OH for moaning at her.....
