Water in fuel sensor - removeable?
«
on:

I've got a faulty sensor that's intermittently telling me I have water in fuel even though I haven't. 2009 1.9 tid. Anyone know whether, if I just remove rather than replace it, this will throw up an error code and cel?
Many thanks

The sensor is only £20 so it might be worth replacing but you could try unplugging it, I reckon that will probably just put up a different fault code though
May I ask how you know you don't have water in the fuel? The sensor itself is a kind of float/resistance sensor sitting in the pot with the fuel filter, it lives under the fuel tank on the 9-5

Thanks. I don't really know I don't have water, but I do know the sensor is faulty. It's clearly had a knock with something and tapping it makes the Sid say water in fuel! Think ill go ahead and replace.
