APC Problem
« on: 01 November 2011, 09:39:11 PM »
I have just bought a '95 2.3 LPT auto (as the 'box is quieter than my 2.3 FPT). I put an APC in as it came without one, ready for possibly transferring the ECU from the FPT. However, currently running with the LPT ECU I find that it frequently hits the fuel cut off with any sort of acceleration from about 50. It did not do this running without the APC. Is the APC allowing extra boost (no gauge in an LPT) and the fuel cut off set lower in an auto ECU? (I know the APC is OK as it came straight out of the other car).

Remove! the Solenoid completely. You are overboosting with out benefit of the ECU controls.
Your existing LPT ECU can be reprogrammed (T5suite from ECUproject.com) to full LPT or stage +++ .

But don't run the solenoid until the ECU is operating it.

The APC valve is removed, I linked out the C and W pipes so that it is back running as an LPT as I did not have time to refit the short tube before going away for the weekend (cut off biro tube works well!).    I was under the impression that the ECU would recognise the APC valve when connected and operate with it but obviously this does not work with later LPT ECU's.
