Hi , can someone explain how this works ?
Do 9000s/aeros have a receptor as standard and if you get the removable towbar
it just locates ?

There's no fitting as such on the car to accept either type of towbar. Both types bolt to the smae fixing points- 3 on the inner face of the bumper section and two in place of the towing eye on the underside of the spare wheel well.

The removable bar then has a socket on the "base" section into which you insert, turn then lock the removable ball. A cap fits over it when not in use.

There are more than one type of removable towbar.

I have the Bosal one.  This snaps into place - well it does if you keep it lubricated!! :o

Then you turn the key to lock it in place. This lock prevents you from turning the release handle.

To remove you unlock it, then turn the release handle until it clicks into the open position.  Pull out the bar from the bracket.
