Another Xenon lights problem
« on: 21 March 2015, 08:02:43 PM »
Last night coming home my headlights were cycling up and down every few seconds.  They weren't dropping to minimum and they weren't going high enough to blind oncoming traffic, but definitely moving.

I know they should move a bit, but not by that much, and not when the car is stationary!  Something for the morning I think.  No time to do anything today.  I drove back from Devon after breakfast and spent the day watching rugby and baking bread….

I had exactly the same Will. Sometimes it would and sometimes it didn't but then up and down when least expected.

You know what I'm going to say - new leveling sensors and loom. We tried alsorts but ended up with those in the end - sorry.

It wouldn't do it yesterday, and when I put the Tech 2 on, there weren't any codes.  I wasn't expecting a code because the lights seemed to be moving "under instruction", albeit an incorrect one.

When it's warmer and my cold has gone away, I will have a crawl underneath.

Mine were also temperamental and nothing showed on Tech2...................... The Saab tech tried al sorts of things to help but it wouldn't do it when wanted but get up the road and off it went. I ended up pulling fuse until the parts were in as we were going to the Lakes and last thing I wanted was to go over brow of hill and lights tilt upwards  :o

Like yours mine never ever actually pointed completely down and not always showed on dash either - was very odd but two sensors and rear loom later as was perfect and (touch wood) still is and a joy with them perfectly aligning.

Strangely when starting car they never ever both dipped at same time and rose to correct level. Passenger side seemed a second behind drivers side - odd unless trying to calibrate itself?

Ho hum - hope you cold goes quickly - weather here today is clear blue skies but cold nip in wind coming off north sea!!!! When for a walk along prom at Sheringham about 5.30 last night and sky was amazing magenta and then temp suddenly plummeted to a really really hard frost this morning...............
