Hi
I have some issues with the cruise on my 99 V aero estate
the dash light comes on but sometimes it will not set the speed when the button on the end of the stalk is pressed, when it does engage it will work fine but then randomly it will disengage
any thoughts appreciated

I would look at the pedal switches. Check that they are OK and working. Make sure that you don't have your foot on either pedal. Even the slightest pressure will cut the cruise. But if either switch is loose it may be in contact with the pedal and stop the cruise setting.

I'd do what sgould said and then also ask do you have any other electrical problems or warning lights? I vaguely recall that having failed (or failing) brake light bulbs can cause problems with the cruise control.

Thanks
Is an auto, can see the switches on the brake pedal, when pressed one moves a shade before the other, need to work out which is which. AFAIK brake lights are all good, but will give them the once over today
