SW rear speaker wiring - where can I splice in!?
« on: 15 July 2011, 10:54:05 PM »
Looking to replace the crappy rear speakers in the tailgate of my '06 9-3 SW with the amusingly named 'Premium 70' 4-speaker sound system.  I want to bypass them completely and stick some bigger units in pods inside the boot somewhere.

Question is, where can I cut into the wiring?  The most likely-looking point seems to be the big connector panel in the nearside rear wing... does anyone have access to a diagram of what's what in there?

TIA

Daniel

You mean the 102 pin connector under the windscreen pillar?  Make sure you find the right wires as there are different wire with the same colours that do different things!!  Rear Speakers are Pins 1, 2, 3, 4.  Same colour wires as at the back.

There's also connector H8-10.  On the right hand side D pillar near the side window.

Wires are
RH Speaker: White (+) Black/Blue (-)
LH Speaker: Green (+) Black/Green (-)

Fan-flippin-tastic!  That's exactly the info I was after.  I actually meant the connector board which is on the left side in the boot, behind a carpeted panel, but it seems I was barking up the wrong tree as the connectors are on the right!  It just looked like a likely place to start.

When it finally stops raining I'll have another poke about!

Thanks so much sgould (and thanks to Trenchfoot for guiding me to the forum...)
