Fancy number plates and surrounds?
« on: 29 July 2019, 03:45:04 PM »
So my number plates look very tired and faded, so much so that the MOT tester highlighted it!!!

The front plate is also not on straight, which annoys me every time I walk towards the car and see it!!!

Anyway, when I come to get new plates, what should I get? Any thoughts on style etc, and should I have chrome number plate holders, or do they look a bit tacky on a black car?

I got some pressed aluminium plates with plastic surrounds which look quite good.

I got some more plastic surrounds from the Saab Museum for the Carlsson, but they also need metal plates.  The standard plastic ones don't fit, they are too thick.

Since I bought the plates for the 9-5 the companies selling the plates have tightened up on the regulations and you have to send them original copies of the documents and proof of identity.  Which I haven't, and won't, do.

Nice Traction there Will. Beautiful cars. Did you get a photo without your 9-5 in the way?

No.  The car was owned by the owner of the hotel we stayed in in the hills to the west of Vienna.

At the bottom of the hill in Tülln there is a roundabout... :)  We got there a bit late in the day...
