9-5 2.2 TiD error code P0244 solved
« on: 28 June 2014, 11:02:42 AM »
Hi All,

had the following error code last week. Symptoms were loss of power when engine revved above 3000rpm (limp mode) and only resolved when the MIL is reset.

The diagnostic code was P0244 and relates to the turbo solenoid. On checking the forums this appears to also relate to faults with vacuum tubing that link the wastegate, solenoid and other related tubing.

On checking he tubing today, I noted that one tube had disconnected from an assembly close to the EGR valve. Once reconnected, the problem was solved.

I hope find this post useful when trying to solve P0244 error codes.

...I know this is an old thread, but why not have two solutions in the same place.

I had similar symptoms. No problem is 1st or 2nd gear, but accelerating in third the CEL was thrown at around 3200rpm. I was running live data monitoring and the CEL was thrown at 140 kPa / 0.4 bar boost.

I checked the intake pipes, then followed the vacuum pipes. When I got to the swirl valve pipes I discovered both were disconnected at the solenoid valve on the inner wing, just next to the battery.

Refitted those and there was a significant change in performance, even at low engine revs which is I suppose to be expected as the swirl valves were now operating correctly. No CEL any longer and I monitored boost and it was now showing 205 kPa / 1.05 bar boost.
