Another one bites the dust...Ian Allan Motors
« on: 29 January 2025, 11:26:02 AM »
The people who have been servicing me and Dame Edna and Helga since I moved back to the UK in 2009, Ian Allan Motors in Virginia Water is closing on March 7th.

Not the easiest place to get to, but as it was half way between home and work it suited me and I was never disappointed with the service I got from there.  It was formerly a Saab dealer, and had stocks of used Saabs, some nice models as well.  Bill and John (both now retired) on the service desk I respected for their honesty.  Prices always reasonable.

That's 2 garages nearby I could rely for my servicing, Now Vauxhall in Kingston became Robins & Day, then Stellantis & You - and Ian Allan.  Although I had 'issues' with their Saab expert in Kingston, parts that are common like brakes and consumables etc with the Insignia made it a logical place for servicing from time to time.

I will check the garage that originally supplied Helga (Slaters Colwyn Bay) but looks like a 3-train journey to Epsom again.

Surely only two?  Richmond to Clapham Junction to Epsom.  Then a bus up the hill.
