Well chaps got the car now and quite pleased with it. A 55 Reg 9-5 2.2tid Vector Sport estate in bright silver grey. It actually looks sort of brushed aliminium colour. Will post some pics.

It has done 120k but full Saab contract and main dealer history. Its had some typical work done and had EGR valve replaced at 65k and rear bushes at 72k but looks in excellent condition. Picked up yesterday and drove through London and then up M11 & A11 to Norwich in mixture of traffice but mostly fast moving ad SID says 47.8mpg. SO well chuffed as the aero in that traffic would have been around 30. I has also got electric front seats with memory and heated front and back, newer front with round spots and bi-xenons (except dash light comes on but could be washers as they don't seem to work but lights are correctly adjusted). It has dipping passenger mirror and anti dazzle wing mirrors but strangely interior mirror is manual for night? You do spot other little things accustomed to as well such as non locking fuel cap, no cover under rear floor above spare wheel but who cares I only paid £600 between the two and that included 6 months tax and 3 months warranty!

Well just before it pi55ed it down for 5 hours I managed to get a couple or three piccies of her. So far so good with only couple of glitches - new headlamp washer pump (got one for £30 del) and usual lamp levelling sensor at back for xenons (managed to get one) but otherwise driving around town its still showing only 45 on SID after a couple of resets as well s0 well chuffed. My son tells me he's going to detail it this weekend!

Why would I pay my son when he owes me loads...............................

I actually own hi Civic vtiS and won't let him forget it either!

You know how you hear 'dad my tax is due but can't afford it this week - pay you back' and never get it back!

He's happy as pig in smelly stuff

Jim - Prefer your colour and wheels to my '03 version. I do dislike the "nail" alloys...really heavy-looking, and Cosmic Blue is so common. The wife says she's glad it sticks out so far. (I think she's referring to how hard it would otherwise be to find the car in car-parks.....)

How long before you visit Abbott's then?

Well it's quite interesting really as Hirsch have 30% off at the moment for my model which brings it down to £560 whereas Abbotts are showing £499 + VAT making £598.80 so just under 40 quid less for Hirsch although I haven't asked Giles yet what he'd do it for. Both re-maps are the same 145hp and 330Nm.

The other thing is that Hirsch done at my dealers only 5 iles away by master technician I know well where as Abbotts as much as I like them are a 130 mile round trip and 3.5 hrs driving so they'd have to be around the £500 mark to make it worth while as I don't need anything else from them.

Just sorting monies out first - get invoice out to a customer for a stage payment and then - hmmmmm; looks like Hirsch

Nice car Jim!

The 330 newtons will make the Hirsch worthwhile. A considerable increase in thrutch.

Ah. I see where the confusion comes in, having just checked Google and the urban dictionary.

"Give it some thrutch" was a term used when I was A LOT younger to encourage a driver to press firmly on the accelerator, or otherwise to make the most of whatever power was available in the car being driven. Typically a Mk 1 Escort, HC Viva, Triumph 1300 or whatever early 70s car one's pals fathers had agreed to let one take out for the evening to meet one's mates.
One pal's dad was a manager with Natwest bank and had one of the first Audi 100's. Half a dozen 18-year-olds driving that round Liverpool city centre on a saturday night and not pulled up once. The same six were also often crammed in an 850 Mini. We never got the use of the Rover 3500 which another pal's dad owned though.

Geoff's on a nostalgia trip this evening.

That's on so frequently I'm starting to say the lines along with the cast.  Gave it a miss this week though, you can have too much of a good thing...
