time for a new turbo
« on: 05 July 2013, 09:57:21 AM »
Her Linear Estate is blowing a fair bit of smoke under heavy acceleration these days. Oil levels dropping faster now too. Car has done 186,000Km. I figure the GT17 is on it last legs, although it boosts like nothing else. Almost too much too quickly actually.
So...put on a MitsubishiTD04?

Funny enough mines was pulling like a train just before it went.....  I was thinking to myself at the time that this old bus sure can shift when it all went wrong.... :-(
none of your symptoms though, mines snapped the shaft between the veins

Unless you're going for a remap I wouldn't bother with a TD04 unless they are cheaper than the GT17 (they strangely enough are in the UK if you know where to buy from) but you will need other bits or mods to make it fit.
