Mp3, Parrot mki9200 again
« on: 17 December 2014, 10:35:56 PM »
Hi

I have searched the forum and found some old topics but none of them answer all my questions:(

I would appreciate help from somebody more knowledgeable than me:) Thank you

My car is 2007 9-5 with Sat Nav and CD changer in the boot.
1. I have a Parrot mki9200 which I was going to install but somebody at the garage told me there could be a problem because saabs music system is amplified and so is parrot and it might be tricky to do it. Is this true?

2. I found some Aux kits on eBay. If I understand correctly I can buy a kit like this and plug it at the back of my unit then go to a dealer and have my Aux in activated? Correct?
Is there a spare aux in if socket at the back if I have a cd changer already installed in my car? is this that simple?

Thank you for your time

I don't think you can!  It only works on the 9-3 from 2002 to 2006.  From 2007 the 9-3 had an AUX on the front.

From 2007 the 9-5 had an AUX socket on the front of the radio, but the Denso satnav does not have an AUX connection.

I did fit one, but it was a lot of effort and involved an FM modulator in the aerial connection.

I tried and had all sorts of amp problems. Had to go with the ck3100 instead. It works well.

Hi

I spoke to my local car audio specialist and they are aware of the Saab situation and the parrot mki9200. I don't want to go with lower model as I really like quality music conectivity over Bluetooth. The car audio specialist told me that there is a dedicated harness for Saab with sat nav and cd changer in the boot.  They have done this kind of installation before and are happy to do mine. The downside is the cable is £69 and installation is £45. A little bit more that I expected.

I just got off the phone with justcables. Very helpful and knowledgable. I Need saab26tel cable and it will work. It's plug and play just needs a feed of the cigarette lighter.
