powerfold and dipping mirrors
« on: 12 April 2015, 07:07:43 PM »
Does anyone know why my mirrors won't dip for reversing. They're powerfold with the reverse dip switch too. All works fine except the dip switch. Any ideas please.

The switch only works on the passenger door mirror.  But the function is flaky.  Pressing the switch only works when reverse is engaged, but I've never found them reliable, and the mirror reverts to normal when you go forward again.  It's a pain if you have to shuttle to and fro to get into a parking space.

I have worked round this.  I have programmed button 2 on the memory seat to leave the seat in the same place but to dip both mirrors.  That way they stay dipped until I want to drive off again.

Well i decided to take out the switch and give it a clean as i have on all my saabs. The reverse dipping part now works flawless everytime and reverts to normal when you drive off.

My 93 convertible certainly doesn't need to be in reverse - but I embarrassingly only discovered what this switch did the other day!  :-[ :-[ :-[  I was always looking at the wrong mirror when pressing the button!
