Electric seat won't move
« on: 17 July 2011, 12:00:53 AM »
Hello, me again.

Despite being repeatedly told, my youngest daughter decided to play with the electric passenger seat and move it fully forward.

The reason she was told not to do this, is the passenger seat has a habbit of not working for a while then begrudgingly doing what its told.

For the last few days the seat will not move from its fully forward position, which is getting a tad annoying. Sigh.

Does anyone know waht the fault is, or how to manually move the electric seat?

Thanks

Is it only fore/aft adjustment that isn't working? If so then sometimes raising/lowering the seat can "unstick" things and get it moving again. Can you hear any relay clicks when you push the buttons?

Hello,
No nothing is happening, the front/back/up down & seat back angle all do not work.

There is no clicking when you move the switches.

The fuse is OK.

If I could just move it back to mid position then at least we could use the chair.

Thanks for the help

Just had a look at the wiring diagram.  Somewhat surprisingly there is only one relay, so the full motor power to the three motors goes through the switches.

The relay in under the front seat (see attachment)

Relay is enabled by a connection through the TWICE unit.  A fault in the relay circuit gives code B1535.

I can't find any emergency operation though.

Not sure if this is helpful but if you carefully prise off the cover on the forward/back/up/down lever there's a white button in one of the controls. Could this be some sort of trip switch that needs pushing back in.

I'm having the same exact issue, and both front seats. Won't move anything, completely stuck, nothing and no clicks.
I'm wondering if there is another relay or fuse that controls both besides the individual fuse on the seat itself?
Were you able to sort out your seat or made any progress?

Thanks

I had trouble with mine and ended up disconnecting the memory module. The controls still worked... MY 2000 9-5 LPT...
