Thanks V6 ragtop  :) I just wanted to confirm yes or no if Saab were still doing this as it may well help other Saab drivers, Can you please just confirm approx age of vehicle, and if you have a full service history? as results seem to vary  ::)

it is an 07 plate convertible aero and has a full service history. I have used adrian smith for the servicing since i bought the car from them (car was 7 months old when i bought it) They made the application to saab re the springs with no promt from me so i assume this is somthing they do fairly often. the first time i knew i was getting a saving was when they handed me the bill, quite a surprise !

Mine were replaced FOC by my local dealer from whom I purchased the car. Shortly after the replacement on one of the front wheel bearings under dealer warranty, in fact on the way home the knock started, I found that one front spring had broken. Given the potholes and humps in our village, I put it down to bad luck, and though I had read elsewhere of springs being replaced free, I considered that I would stand the cost and put it down to experience. Amazingly, the cost of a pair from Saab was less that that from my local factor; while I was on the way up to the dealer in the wife's car, I got a call from the Service Manager who advised that the springs would be replaced free. So I spun round, went back home and took the Saab up to the garage and within a few hours it was ready. It appeared that they were willing to replace them at no cost to me and back-claim on the factory and I considered this a very nice gesture, even if they were confident of recouping the costs.

Thanks for the invite to STT Saabman....!

My front coils were replaced FOC at the local dealer; Moorland Motors, Blackpool after a special request was submitted to Sabb UK  ;D
Good job as it was the week before Xmas!

It's a 55 plate 9-3 Aero and had circa 70k on the clock at the time, FSSH.

Your best option is to contact Saab uk themsleves explain the circumstances and quote that you have informaation from Saabscene site.

They will then look into etc.

Even though your local agent says they tried but got no joy doesnt mean that they even made the request.

Do it yourself and you will then know for sure.

Jedi

that was what i tried a few months ago but saab uk still refused point blank.
others may have better luck though.
