Rear brake disc sizes - Aero vs everything else
« on: 30 July 2020, 08:29:11 PM »
Quick question - does the Aero have the same size rear brakes as every other 9-3ss?

Having now had my front brakes uprated to the 314mm discs and the superbly refurbed bigger calipers, my rear calipers are looking like the poor relation!!!

Some time back I bought a second hand set of rear calipers, with the intention of sending them off to Big Redd to refurb in the same manner as the fronts. I found these rear calipers when I was digging out the fronts to be fitted.

Are all rear disks 290mm diameter (and hence the calipers are the same)?

If they are ventilated, they are 292mm dia.  If they are solid, they are 278mm dia.  That's it.

Even our 2.8 XWD has 292mm rear discs, although the hole in the middle is bigger to allow for the driveshaft.
