As my '96 2.3 FPT auto box wails its life away I bought another 9k, a '95 2.3 LPT auto. This was fine (if a little slow) when I picked it up on Saturday. Sunday morning was OK, over to my parents where I had left the old car to pull a few parts off (towbar and tailgate lock which was not working properly). When I went to leave it would not start, the immobiliser would not release.
Tried new batteries in the plippers (with 5 blip routine) but nothing happened (it does not operate the door locks or release the immobiliser although the CL works on the key). It seems the only avenue left is to change the ECU for another non VSS one (maybe the one out of the old FPT) or get the VSS disabled in the exitsing ECU unless anyone knows better.
I'd be grateful for any suggestions, and if anyone has the part numbers for the 2.3 ECU's (FPT and LPT) without VSS.
