MAP sensor woes...
« on: 20 October 2011, 09:51:29 PM »
I'm wondering if anyone else on here is suffering the utter frustration I am with my '04 2.2 TiD, I had my turbo replaced about 6 months ago as it was leaking oil onto the MAP sensor, triggering limp home mode, since then the problem has continued, with the code p0106 & p2227 showing up, so had the MAP sensor replaced. OK for a couple of weeks, then engine light comes on and same codes coming up, garage cleans the sensor, again OK for a couple of weeks, then the problem returns, I keep resetting the light and erasing the codes with my reader but every day the problem comes back, I take it to my specialist and they haven't a clue whats wrong with the thing. It seems to jump into limp home mode when I pull up at junctions and slot 1st, I can't keep replacing sensors every few weeks has anyone else suffered this it is, quite literally, driving me to the point of wanting to torch the piece of junk!

Reading through the workshop information it's saying it's a plausibility fault with the map sensor and the atmospheric pressure sensor, has your specialist confirmed which one is reading incorrectly? I'd suggest a start by pressure testing all of the intake system and looking for air leaks, also making sure all the valves on the side of the battery cover are correctly connected up.
