Do the Anniversary alloys ALU71 fit the 9-3 ss (2006) or are they 9-5 wheels?

Hi all. I am thinking of getting an air compressor to have in the garage so I can check and pump up the tyres at home. Some years ago, I bought a 12V one to keep in the car, but it is horrendously slow to pump the tyres up.

So I was interested to get a 240V mains powered one that I could have in the garage and pump my own tyres up as required.

Has anyone got one that they would recommend?

This leather seat repairer popped up on my Facebook earlier. Has anyone used them before and can recommend them?

Well not using any car for the next few days, as I'm having to isolate after testing positive for Covid on a PCR test :o

When I first got my Aero, I started accumulating all sorts of things I intended to upgrade it with. I picked up two electric power wing mirrors and and associated switch pack that goes on the inside of the driver's door.

More recently, I dug the box with these in out of storage, to find that the triangular trim panel that fits to the outside of the door appears to have been filled with body filler at some stage (not sure why you would need to do unless you broke it taking it off the door, or if it was accident damaged).

So I have two questions -

1) Can this plastic trim be removed from the mirror and replaced with another from another mirror unit (eg the manual mirrors I have on my car now)?


2) Is the wiring loom for folding mirrors present on all cars, or would it need some new wiring putting in before these would even work??

I ask because I am reviewing a couple of the purchases I made early on, and wondering if I can be bothered to spend time doing that particular upgrade!!!

The NG 9-5 intigues me, and I have this nagging feeling that I'd like one one day. But, heart says petrol and head says diesel.

There are far far more diesels being advertised than petrols, so I wondered what would represent a good buy from a running cost, reliability, and value perspective.

I don't do many miles a year, so a diesel with DPF sounds a risky option, but there are so many about...... I've also heard that the petrols have their own problems.

I've noticed that my front passenger door doesn't always lock when I lock the car, or doesn't always unlock when I unlock it.

I suspect I need to get the door casing off and clean up or lubricate the mechanism/lock motor, but anyone got any tips? And if I do it for one, I suppose it would be good to do it to all of them whilst I'm at it.

Got about 41 mile range left on the Aero, and my 50mpg Peugeot 107 is parked up in my garage with a bit of a gearbox issue!!!

The morons round here have emptied all the local/nearby  filling stations!!

How is everyone else getting on?

Had a strange occurrence coming home from work in my Peugeot 107 tonight. Pulled up in traffic, and then could not get the gear lever out of second gear to put it back into first.

Clutch is fine, not slipping, and I've never had the issue before. As the traffic was about to start moving again, I was getting a bit frantic but the lever was locked in position.

I lifted the clutch pedal thinking it was going to stall, but I got a slight grinding of the gear noise, so put the clutch down again, and then was able to get it out of second and into first on time to pull away!!!

But it did it again a minute or two further down the road. I pulled over, and after a bit of messing about, got it out of second and was on my way again.

Question is, what could be wrong? Car has about 70k on the clock, full history, recent service/MOT, and I've had the car for 10 years. Any ideas??
