Put me out of my misery please, I can't tell what's wrong! :)

I'm sure that I've read somewhere that in the event of an accident locked doors are much safer than unlocked. The reason being that if they are unlocked the doors may open themselves at an inopportune moment but if they are locked they will stay shut so you can't get ejected from the vehicle (which can happen even with seatbelts on) and no limbs can get crushed (which happened to a friend of mine who was a passenger in a car when he only had the window open and his arm flung out the window).

I had one of the non-genuine shark fin aerials like sgould posted, it leaked water into the headlining which would pour onto the rear parcel shelf. If you do use one of them then I'd probably use some sealant around the gasket, just in case.

If SAAB do offer then it's still a good will gesture, I sent a few people to the main dealer to see if they'd do them for free but SAAB refused the claims so the car came back to us for fitting them.

It is available as a spare part, it used to be about 85 for a new one from SAAB, I've changed one in the past due to the valet getting a bit over enthusiastic too. Not too bad a job to do either apart from removing the air vents which always results in them falling to bits for me :(

GM flogged the platform to Alfa and it got used for the Alfa 159.

Actually, thinking about it I used to have a 2.3 lpt 9000 Anniversary auto until a couple of years ago. It was badged as SAAB 9000 Anniversary Auto on the V5 (or something very much like that), now if you do a search for it on askmid it comes back as an SAAB 9000 Aero Turbo ???

Hello and welcome!

Out of interest, why never a Ford? I know from how despicably GM treated many of their franchises and then needed a bailout because they were too big to fail that I'd never buy a GM car ever again, also, never really liked Vauxhalls in the first place.

I was looking at the site last night and I don't quite believe the figures, I know of 2 Carlsson models which are on the road and I can't believe that they are the only 2! Did they maybe get registered as something else for some years or maybe the DVLA data is a bit patchy. I also noticed that for some years of cars that new ones were registered well after production, look at the 9000 Aero and it says that 3 were registered new in 2001, 2 in 2002, 1 in 2003, 1 in 2004, 3 in 2005 and 1 in 2006 which is a bit.. well, odd really.

I think for models that exist and were built then I'd quite like a 92. If I can choose out of anything including concepts then an Aero-X would be what I'd take :)

I did the same thing in my previous 9-5, except I had to pick up a client on the day it happened so couldn't take a photo. :(

Nice work on getting it right!

I think I'd want a 4x4 estate with a turbo strapped on it... so probably a Subaru Legacy or maybe a Forester, not convinced on how safe they are but other choices might be an Alfa Romeo (mostly as I've never had one), possibly a Volvo cross country of V70 of some description. Don't like German cars very much so would give them a miss, I might consider another Citroen but they've gone rather boring in recent years. One other car I've always wanted to own at least one of is a Land Rover or Range Rover which is a bit off the wall maybe but just an ownership experience I'd want to have.

2002 model on an 03 plate SAAB 9-5 2.0t Arc Auto, in that oh so fashionable steel grey. I want to mod it but just don't get around to doing it!
