Title: Fuel Pump
Post by: wallsm on 16 December 2011, 11:02:55 PM
Hi all, does anybody know if the Saab 900/93 takes the same fuel pump as the 95/9000
I can get a 900/93 handy but can't get a 95

Regards

Mark

I think it's unlikely. Some might.

I've just looked at the parts catalogue and there are dozens of pumps listed.  The 9-5 only has a couple, but the older cars have different ones by year, and also by engine type.

Thanks sgould, that will save me some messing about.
The 95 looks exactly the same as the 9000.
The pumps are probably adopted for the fuel tank depth and shape etc.

Might it be possible to use transfer the motor between cannisters, if that is what has failed?

The pump is pretty much always interchangeable just the differences are on the fuel level sensor and clips etc.

Thanks gents,

I have a 01 95 pump from a breaker for €50. Should be perfect.

I tried to dismantle a pump before, it's not easy. even more difficult to asemble

Thanks again and happy motoring.
