Title: Engine Temp drop
Post by: Martin on 09 February 2012, 05:27:17 PM
Had a couple of times when the CEL came on and the Engine Temp indicator needle dropped to the bottom of the scale, everything seems to work OK and the indicator goes back to normal next time the car is started and the CEL goes out a bit later.

Could this be a sensor failing and if so any ideas?

Cheers
Martin

Similar thing happened me and found it be the engine thermosat. Very simple fix. I got all my help here http://www.saabscene.com/forum/threads/140742-Engine-Light-is-On!

I haven't checked the above links before posting but i had thermostat and sensor changed last year and i think the two parts were less than £10 each and fairly easy to change if doing it yourself.  i was advised if doing the stat to do the sensor at same time. Mines used to read a bit low when moving and level when stationery
