Title: Check DPF saturation with ELM 327 Bluetooth ?
Post by: dave08 on 29 July 2012, 11:26:04 PM
Hello.
A few weeks ago I bought a cheap ELM 327 bluetooth adapter to connect to my 2005 9-3 TiD.
It works fine with torque-bhp app on android, but there are many PIDs (sensors) that aren't read, but I was expecting this.
The main reason I bought it (and the paid version of the app also) was to clear the engine light (it works)  when a DPF regeneration is interrupted, which already happened twice, and so that I do not have to go to the dealer after the car gets off limp mode.
I've installed a few programs on my laptop, in order to see if it was possible to read the DPF saturation status,  such as Scanmaster ELM (demo), ScanXL pro (demo) and OBD2SPY (demo), but none of these seem to be able to get this information.

So my questions are:
Has anyone ever tried any of these, and do they have to be the paid versions ?
I read that Op-COM (opel) along with their device is a very cheap alternative to Tech2 and can even force regenerations on TiD and TTiD engines. Any confirmation ?
Thanks and regards !
Dave

Have you tried installing TorqueScan (torque ODB Plugin) which is free and adds loads of extra readings into the purchased version of Torque?

It also has a PID scanner and telnet....

Edit: does a 2005 Tid have a DPF???

Thanks for the reply. Yes, my 2005 TiD (Z19DTH engine) already has a DPF.
Yes, I did install Torque scan and even the GM extra pids/sensors but there are sill many that won't display. Never used that telnet connection. I wonder if I would be able to get the information on DPF with that...
What about Op-Com ? Has anyone used it around here ?
Regards

I've got an Op-Com...but no diesel. If you come to the east coast of Yorkshire, you are welcome to try it.

There was something on here a while ago by someone that bought it and it did do a manual re-gen.
