Title: SAAB Aero 93 V6 - topping up header tank.
Post by: andykeen on 04 July 2011, 03:11:51 PM
Hi All.

Can anyone please throw a little light onto the problem I am having.

Over the last couple of weeks I am having to top-up the radiator header tank (About every 3 days) - its constantly dropping below the low level.

On occasions I can hear the header tank bubbling or boiling but I cannot see any water on the floor or steam and neither can I smell the usual coolant fluid burning smell when the engines hot.

The temp needle in the car is not moving at all.

Any ideas

Thank you
Regards
Andy

there was a recall on the V6 header tanks due to a fault which developed a small leak at the neck of the filler cap. Mine was changed some time ago what year is your car?. if you take it to a saab dealer they presumably should be able to deal with this at no cost to you
