Does anyone know if i can just get parking sensors (genuine)  and just fit them or do i need other parts tech2 etc. Thanx in advance.

there is more to it than just fitting the sensors..then tech2 to be added to the system so it shows up on the sid..

You would need to add the SPA module with Tech-2 (Saab Parking Assistance). Possibly updating some software in various control modules at the same time.

Might be just as good.  I can't see the need to connect to the SID, all it does is bleep and show the message "Parking Assistance Active".

When you are reversing, it's unlikely that you will be looking anywhere near the SID, so a buzzer somewhere will do.

Not necessarily, I'd check out how much the kit is available for as they have been available very cheaply in recent years. If you got the kit and found someone who will add it with Tech-2 for a good price and fitted it yourself you may find it's not too expensive.
