Title: 2005 95 2.2 CD autochanger 'no magazine'
Post by: wallsm on 24 February 2019, 02:36:10 PM
Hi my 2005 95 2.2 CD autochanger was working perfectly until I got the error on the sid, 'No Magazine'

Any help would be much appreciated, I have searched all forums but can't get my specific problem.

Thanks Mark

That sounds like the internal detection mechanism for the magazine is no longer working ; either

Microswitch moved / broken (or wiring to it)
Magazine damaged, meaning magazine does not trio the switch

I've no specific knowledge here, and recognise my suggestions may be a little old tech, but it's where I would start.

First job would be to go to the CD changer and physically remove / replace the magazine - that might be all that's needed.

ps - this should be in the classic 9-5 forum, if a mod can move it :)

Thank you Carrera.

When I open the auto-changer nothing happens, can I physically pull the cassette out without harming it?

Thanks in advance.

If it's the same as mine the magazine is a motorised load / unload by pressing a button.

Are you sure you have power to the CD changer ?

Sorted, tugged at the wires and it came to life, bad connection behind the boot trim.

Thanks for your help.
