Title: Hot Box
Post by: twosaabs on 25 March 2019, 05:52:00 PM
Last week we had a run around Holland and Belgium in the Aero Auto. The traffic in Belgium was quite vile, culminating in getting stuck trying to get round Ghent for a couple of hours. The auto box was starting to get a bit twitchy and jerky and telepathy suggets it was getting seriously hot. I'm putting her in for a fluid change (150,000 miles) which might do some good. It's fine on an ordinary run and fine using the paddles. Anybody any views? Apart from "don't go to Belgium" of course.

A fluid change is always a good idea.  150k miles is about right for the second change in the life of the vehicle.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was actually the first change ...

:o. :o

Things like that do happen!

I know a lady who is very particular about rules and gets her car serviced regularly.  Her husband complains that she is wasting money and should "wait until it breaks" before fixing it.  She was particularly worried when her VW dealer advised that the cam belt and water pump should be replaced at 4 years old.  I managed to explain the consequences of a failure so she got them changed.

I think it's really good. At the current website, it provides new knowledge for readers like me.
