Title: Where to get a new key?
Post by: Tim O on 07 July 2019, 07:20:54 AM
Had a few things stolen from a bag whilst travelling around Europe, including a key to my 9-5 which is currently parked on a farm in Buckinghamshire (I hope).

Phoned Lock & Key in Aylesbury who I have used before but they said no longer cut/programme SAAB keys, "too many problems" or some such.

Any suggestions on where I can get a key? Preferably either Oxford or Bristol areas. Thanks.

I'm in a similar position. I've just ordered a new key from www.saabits.com They will need the VIN number of your car to get the metal blade cut. But any Approved Saab Service Agent can get one.

But, do you have the second key?  You need a working key to allow access to the Saab security system, so that you can marry a second key, using the Saab Tech2 computer.

If you have lost your only key, you have a problem.  The new key will open the door, but it won't start the car until it is married. You will need to get a new TWICE security box as well.  A secondhand one along with its working key will do.

Yes, second key is with my car. V5 is with it too, but I'm in Portugal, not back for a month.

I was hoping to pay 'lazy tax', get someone to do the whole thing, drive in, drive out, job done.
Do you think it's something Simply SAAB in Bristol might be able to do?

I'm sure they could.

I have used JP Auto Solutions as well, http://www.jpautosbristol.co.uk  but possibly your best bet for someone getting you a key and then doing a drive-in drive out marry is Martin at JamSaab in Durley Lane, Keynsham http://jamsaab.co.uk

But there is a Saab specialist on the A41 heading out from Aylesbury, just beyond Waddesdon, on the industrial estate down the lane behind the Ducati motorbike place. http://swedishcarclinic.co.uk I haven't used them myself.
