Air Con on 56 plate 95 Estate stopped working. Had it regassed, but will not start - suspect a leak somewhere.
Any advice on most likely leak points and/or other obvious faults before I start expensive process 0f investigations?
Thanks!
Firstly, run the ACC calibration test described in the owners handbook to see what fault codes are displayed. Search this forum for further details, it's come up before.
Was the car re-gassed by a Saab dealer or not?
Saab dealer fairly close to me is offering a full check for any leaks and problems and a re-gas for £49.
This may be a worthwhile first port of call to find out the exact problem.
Seems that the vacuum test OK but when regassed loses gas! Suspect therefore a leak that closes under vacuum but opens under pressure!
Might try the SAAB offer - will see what my local is doing.
Thanks
Probably one of the Shrader valves.
Put a blob of liquid on the charge points with the cap removed and see if it there.

Tiny hole in pipe behind condensor - all fixed. Don't know why the vacuum test seemed to work..........

Because the vac test tends to suck in and seal splits, whereas pressure forces them open. Had a similar issue on my rad a little while back- held vac for over 30 mins but lost charge in a couple of days.
But hole was in metal pipe! You do have to take garages on trust, but sometimes...........
