Title: Trying to upload photos via mobile phone
Post by: Steve McF on 29 May 2026, 11:13:15 PM
Just tried to upload a photo from my phone to a thread I started. Am on my phone rather than my laptop, and I cannot see how to upload a photo on the new format website.

Am I missing something obvious??

Hmm, I don't use a smartphone so cannot test this out

I'm expecting that you will be presented with the usual /equivalent "Click or drag files" when you choose to reply. The option will not be available with a quick reply, just the same as the desktop site

I tried rom my iPhone and I haven't found a way to make the picture small enough.  And I suspect that the picture upload isn't being accessed correctly as it comes up with a message saying: "max allowable message length of 20000 characters exceeded.

I'll keep trying.

I can add a photo to a reply with cut and paste, but I need to find a way of reducing the size before it arrives at SaabTechTalk.

That was a bit convoluted.  Thius is how from an Apple iPhone.

Choose file in Photo Library.
Export to "Preview" app.
Choose "resize".
Go to STT in browser.
Choose "Reply"
Choose the picture source.
It should appear in the frame.
Add to the post.
