Title: Quick Boot Carpet Question.
Post by: Saabotage on 16 August 2011, 07:53:01 PM
I can't log onto my usual haunt tonight, maybe someone over here can confirm something for me...

I have a MY 2007 9-5. It has always galled me that the carpet in the boot lid does NOT have the clips for the warning

triangle thingy bob.

I did remove the carpet and clips from a classic 9-5 and sort of got it to fit in my old 2002 Aero.

Can I do the same job onto a 2007 Aero? They are different part numbers....Will an oldie fit a newie?

I hope so!

Cheers!

I haven't seen the boot lid of a Dame Edna.  Are the fixing holes the same?  And the shape of the indentation?

if so, I suspect that the part number may have changed because the triangle changed shape rather than the car. The triangle that came in my old 9-5 is in a totally different box to the one in her 9-3.  Both have "Saab" moulded into the case though.

It's the same part no for the boot lining for all 4D models 02-08. The 08 EPC shows the same straps that hold the traingle in the illustration but doesn't list them as a pat no. From that I would guess that you can still fit them but they weren't an orignial fit item for that year.
