At the moment SaabTechTalk is still in the development stage. We do not have room on our server for uploading full size attachments, only small thumbnails.
To show a full-size picture, you will need to find somewhere on the web to host them. Sites like photobucket, Saabphotos, Picasa, etc. are places that can do this.
Then you need to find the URL of the picture itself. This will be a URL that ends in things like .jpg, .png or .tif etc. and will usually be in the address box at the top of the web page.
Copy the URL of the picture.
Go to your post and click at the point you want to put the picture. The insertion point line will appear there and flash.
Click on the "Image" button above the reply box. It's the one on the second row at the left, under the "B".
You should then see this appear [img]|[/img] with the insertion point flashing in the middle.
Paste the URL at that point. There must be no spaces between the URL and the brackets.
That's it!! :)
Worth adding that Flickr generates the necessary code for you, all you need to do is paste it in.
It's a pretty straightforward process; when I'm back at a proper 'putter I'll upload some screengrabs.

tried to upload small picture 125kb into topic and message said to many uploads or words to that effect? Had a lok at my profile to see if anything could be deleted but to no avail?
Any help please as to why a simpe attachement won't work?

At the present time STT is being hosted on some complimentary webspace. The intention was to see if the board was viable before having to commit to hosting costs.
Since launch we are very pleased with the participation on STT and the plan is to migrate the data to our own server. We expect this to happen this month (Sept 2011).
There will be a short period of downtime when the migration is implemented, but notice will be given prior to the move.
It is recommended, also, that you keep an eye on the STT Twitter Page (https://twitter.com/#!/SaabTechTalk) (no need to be on Twitter yourself, you can still view the page) where status updates will be posted.
Following the migration we will have plenty of space for participants to upload images.
photobucket seems to be refusing to allow viewers to look at my pictures, instead of going to my pictures it goes to the site's homepage. I think they should replace the letter b in their name to an f. >:(

Nicko, your attached images are embedded in your post. I can see them and view the large versions. Very nice car, btw :)
Perhaps you have a privacy setting on the Photobucket pictures that you need to change from private to public? (I'm not a photobucket user, so not entirely sure how they handle this).

Hmmm. I've looked at the post on a different computer and can't see the pictures at all until I've logged in. That doesn't seem right.
Be much obliged if you Good People could fix it.
I don't use photobucket. So logging in or out is not the problem. I can see the photos on my laptop, my desktop computer and my wife's iPad.
So the problem lies with the way your computer looks at photobucket.
There may be filters on your computer imposed by an administrator. Is photobucket on the restricted list? Or receiving images?

I have seen the problem. The pictures are on the post as attachments. If you are not a member of SaabTechTalk, or not logged in, you can't see the attachments!

I posted pics in here while in Bahrain. All my pics are on Photobucket and I know for a fact that guests can see them.
Nicko I can see the photos but they are via a link to your photo album. I'm not sure that is what you intended.
All I do to post my pics is right click on them in Photobucket, choose 'copy image location' then paste it in here, highlight it and click the 'insert image' button above the message box and Presto! Jobs a goodun!

Thanks for the reply the problem was twofold - non-registered/not logged in users couldn't see the embedded pictures and botophucket was misbehaving but all seems well now. Thanks to you guys for sorting it.
Have had some issues with Photobucket in recent months but it has been to do with editing pics and their site being hoplessly slow.
