Title: BOOST!
Post by: madmax26 on 28 October 2011, 07:53:30 PM
Hi All!

How can I tell that the turbo is producing it's maximum boost? That everything is working the way it should be!

What are some of the things I can check to find this out?

Mark

Get your Trionic7 reprogrammed to have OpenSID. You will see plenty of parameters including boost.

Didn't know that could be done!

Is that the same for a 2.2tid on 55 plate?

2.2TiD isn't Trionic :)

Back to the OP, do you have any reason to suspect it isn't boosting properly?

Although the information from T7 suite/Open SID is useful, it needs careful interpretation to understand what is going on. T7 is not a boost mapped system, it's a required torque output. In general terms, the torque output is directly related to the air mass (not volume). Both throttle butterfly and boost pressure are adjusted to give the desired output.
