I'm in the same boat and have been doing a little research.

I have a 2005 93 and will be looking to change the speakers for a start. There are numerous posts were most people wouldn't recommend changing the original stereo as theres fibre optic cables, the sid controls the warning sounds, indicators etc

It all depends on how techincally experienced you are and how much money you want to invest.

I'm a novice so Im upgrading the speakers and boosting the fm signal, maybe throwing in an aux input in too.

Hi all,
       I've recently replaced my window screen washer and may possibly threw out the rubber washer that sits between the washer motor and water tank (stops any leaks.  Does anybody know where I can source one from or sizes or even anything that will substitute?

Hi sorry intercooler pipe checked no signs of any splits, looks in good condition, egr has been cleaned & replaced with no change at all.  is this pointing to the air flow sensor?? Code is suggesting egr,  arrrrrrgh

Any help with wot number fuse Im looking at??

   Just got to say forums been a big help and I haven't been joined long, anyway this is on behalf of a friend who's at his wits end.  He has a 2.2 53 plate saab 9-3 linear, issues are as follows

1) Car smokes on acceleration, dark black sooty smoke, eml comes on, egr valve cleaned and then replaced eml goes off after egr remove but comes back on after 2 or so miles.  Fault reader says egr valve???

2) radio/sid cd just died for some unknown reason wont come back on, cd player doesn't eject and there is no display.  Could this be a fuse or would it be a new radio controller??

Any suggestions on either or both issues would be a massive help!!!

with regards to the smoke the next step maybe clean or replace the mass air flow sensor would this sound right or are we wasting our time???

        I own a 2005 saab 93, Im just toying with the idea of installing a double din multimedia player.  Ive been browsing the site and others and can find anything that shows an install for my model.

I have a climate control unit and two seperate radio units, the cd player and the radio controls.

Any ideas what the best installation would be parts etc.

no Im looking at the possibility of a double din install at the minute.  If I come back to the mp3 wire install I'll let you know.

Sorry maybe I haven't explained very well, the kits r on eBay not the issue tbh.

Enabling the aux on the radio menu that's the issue.  Saabkar in Liverpool or merseyswede r my nearest supposedly Saab specialists neither use the tech 2? For enabling aux, lookers Liverpool want £69.99 + vat??? Doesn't sound reasonable at all.  Just want to know of a nearby indie that can do this at a reasonable price!!!

I haven't got an aux function on my radio that's the issue, any suggestions!

intercooler pipe seems fine, Im guessing we'll have to wait to get the codes read.

If theres anything else we can check let us know, we've been looking today.

     I'm posting on behalf of a friend, who on my recommendation bought a saab 9-3.

He's been having a combination of issues that for a more experienced person would help direct us to the issue.

1)  when accelerating the car shoots out puffs of black smoke from the exhaust, it seems okay on idle.

2) The EML turns on and off when it wants.

3) There seems to be a loss of power again this is on and off??

We're at a loss to be honest. Any help would be much appreciated

I've already tried merseyswede they can't do it and I've researched tapping into the phone function but there's lots of people saying the sound qualities not the best and the volume doesn't go that loud.

I thought there maybe an easy solution.

Cheers for all the info, I've considered a parrot but my preference is a wired connection.  I've done a bit of research but it's becoming a bit of a pain in the backside tbh.  Kits seem to be sold everywhere it's just enabling the aux function.

I've tried an array of fm senders, all seem to as bad as each other.

I'm in Liverpool, I've tried saabkar but they don't use tech 2 anymore, he said the updates were getting too expensive.  Lookers Liverpool want £70 to do it this may be my last resort.

Just wanted to ask I have a 2005 saab vector and wanted to install a wired ipod connection.  I have my eye on a few on ebay and off this site and uksaab I think I'll be able to fit it.   I want to know is there a preferred type ?  Im hoping track info will be displayed, will it?  can I use the steering wheel controls and the biggie......

Where in the north west can I get the aux enabled on the radio menu??  Anyone know anyone in the north west with a tech 2 at a reasonable price!!
