It's strange they say it will fit as 900's use electric motors and 9-3's use hydraulic rams ans pump.

I was under that impression as well, but seemingly the latch motor on the cover is the same just a slightly different  lock mechanism on the ends of the alloy beam, with motor off it matches my photo's of the old one, colour coded wires are the same but the cable is slightly different so i got the section of loom as well, will post up when i go back to spain and try fit it,was hoping there would be a better way of opening the locked cover, dont fancy laying in the boot but if thats the only way arghhhhhhhh !! :o

mines a 97 900 and the changer in mine didnt work ( unsure what make original or not) i swapped it for an old sony and leads etc where fine, mines an after market stereo but all leads off the factory fitted one fitted on the new one so assuming it should be ok unless you know someone who can check out the plug in the boot for the old one ?? good luck.  ;D Hi, im from w/yorks  8) and have a 1997 900s convertable, bought her 3 years ago with 170k on the clock, only had her 3 weeks and drove across to spain with only fuel stops and the 8hr crossing to france  ;), really comfy car, she now resides in spain as a holiday car at our (mrs says "mobile home" ::)) i say caravan lol and comes back for a month for the MOT every nov, never missed a beat, nice quiet engine and ive never topped up the oil during changes, had a problem with the rear cover latch motor, caused by the heat and have a new motor arranged for me to fit on my return, she's now on 185k and may be on spanish plates soon, that'll cut down on the mileage and the climate should be easy on the body lol. Ian.

 8) Hi, I've a 1997 2ltr 900s convertable in red

bought her 3 years ago with 170k on,extremely happy so far, 2 weeks after buying i drove her across to spain 1600 miles, stopped only for fuel and the 8 hr crossing to france, so comfy i just didnt want to stop, averaged 39 mpg over the full trip and she now resides in spain coming home once a year for the mot, no problems with the car upto this summer, bit of boot floor corrosion at both sides (floor to outer panel) which as its not been picked up on the last 2 tests i'm assuming its not structural ? getting it repaired at the same time as the small bulkhead crack thats been found, pedals dont move but after reading about it i had a poke behind the sealer and discovered it, Just had my 1st roof problem, seems the rear latching motor doesnt like the heat from the spanish sun and fails, just located a nearly new one and will be refitting on the next trip

I recommend the car, with history would be nice but at this age its usually missing, mines fully stamped lol keep upto the usal servicing and regular oil changes, mines every 3k but probably over the top,as she stands for awhile between trips and the high mileage i pamper her, she'll be on spanish plates soon and with the climate i'm hoping around for quite sometime. Ian....w/yorks

as above, ive a 1997 900s and had to try sort the latching motor as window wouldnt lock down and we had a 1300 mile trip from spain to do, got a temp repair to a bush to enable it to lock but now it wont unlock  >:( ive located another motor but how do you get to the installed motor while the hoods locked down ? also got chance of a nearly new 9-3 motor (1998) which the guy assured me will fit as it was a factory udgrade/recall , any views gratefully accepted.  Ian..w/york's
