Trundling back from Wallingford this afternoon ... TICK 200,000 miles on the clock  ;D

collywobble

I have read somewhere that taxi's with this engine have done up to 300,000 miles. I will be happy to get 200,000 out of mine - only 64,000 to go!

sgould

Funny you should hit that milestone today.

I managed this on the way home this afternoon....

I think the fact that the outside temperature is 10 degrees C is more of a milestone!

Nah!

It was warmer than that earlier......

I got my 9-5 on 18 Nov. 2005, 10 months old with 13k on the clock.

By the end of this week I'll have put another 100k on it, in 7 years 5 months.

And it still runs like new.

(So it should, after all the money I've spent on it!)

Few more months before I'll be hitting 6 figures - on 90k at the moment (purchased at 35k).

CitTone

Just gone past 143K.

Should be loosening-up nicely soon.
Nobody likes a smartarse - until they need one.

Good one CitTone !

MY02 2.0t 9-5 Arc, should be over 150k sometime in the next couple of months if I don't keep getting sent away for work that is!

Griffin Dave

214,000 miles and still going well.
I might ease off the miles soon though, not sure if it's realistic to expect 300,000 miles

Just past the 206k mark myself. I do think that a well looked after petrol engine (fully synth, dropped sump and pcv) will last longer than the diesels.
I've had a 2.0 LPT, a 2.2Tid, a 1.9Tid and 2.3LPT. Both Petrol engines seem to last indefinitely. Currently left with the 2.3 above and the 1.9 which to be fair seems grand at 150k apart from needing a new EGR valve every 50k miles or so

My 1998 lpt, now passed to my brother, has just passed 200k.
