I'll have to go and look in the shed!!

It's blue and aluminium, so it can be lifted with one hand.  I had a look for the online receipt last night but I couldn't find it.

However, I would not recommend the one I have 100%.  When it gets towards its full height it gets very stiff.

If I was buying again, I would look to the similar Arcan model which is sold from time to mis by Costco and others.

The other option is a 12 volt version of the scissor jack.  That goes very low.  I may get one.  I used the scissor jack in the toolkit in the boot at the last puncture, but it struggled and seemed to be on the verge of failing.  Worrying.

My jack is a Clarke StrongArm 1.25 tonne aluminium.

One of these

But I paid half of that, and I reckon that this on should be better. Arcan.  Pic from eBay but a lot cheaper from Costco if they have them in stock.

cheers for that, much appreciated. That is a bit more costly than I was thinking (even at 1/2 the price)  :o :)

I've had mine a little over a year and I did pay half the price!! :)

This is the other type of jack I was thinking of getting.

Electric Scissors Jack  There are several makes around.  I would need to see one to get a true idea of the size especially as some have the motor on the side that goes under the car.

Quite impressed with the electric jack, but I had to move a bit sharpish and I managed to negotiate half price on some axel stands when I bought  a low profile jack from Halfords. Now I have to figure where the central jack point is located and how to position the axel (any advice much appreciated)

cheers

At the front of the 9-3 SS I use the crossmember that is in body colour behind the front plastic undershield.  But it needs a high lift to get both wheels off the ground.  I'm not sure that my low entry jack would do it.  But it's OK for doing one corner at a time.

Following that, how about getting one side up first then putting substantial risers (wood blocks?) under the wheel, then lifting the other side similarly?
Just a thought.
