Had the SID1 repaired by Sidmaster in Gloucestershire in May last year and apart from him taking over a week to return it it has been losing pixels again recently, there is a now a permanent missing vertical line through the first letter of the month, sometimes the second number of the minute display disappears completely and on a recent trip up north after an hour (about 40 miles) the whole display disappeared but it did come back.

He offers a lifetime guarantee as long as the car is in your ownership but he has not replied to my email of three weeks ago.

Anybody else had similar problems with him? As far as I can see I have three options, small claims court, trading standards or cut my losses and send it to the chap in Wales - but he only offers a 2 year guarantee. there is another company based in Waltham Abbey/Clapton who offer a lifetime guarantee but I have not come across them before - anyone with any experience of them?

I've heard of other people who have had issues with sidmaster with regard to getting repairs done under that warranty. For the sake of the £45 and potential problems with another repair I'd cut my losses and look elsewhere.

I did have a SID repaired in late 2010 from saab display repairs in Wales who have a better rep, the repair lasted until a few weeks before I got rid of the 9-5 in early 2015 when I lost a row or two of pixels but as the car was about to be traded in I didn't do anything about it. However, just over 4 years of repair for £50 wasn't too bad.

The SIDMaster in  england has had a few duff reviews.

The SIDMaster in Wales seems to have A1 ratings....  http://www.saabdisplayrepairs.co.uk/default.html
