No spark and windows don't go up and down

Right, got the console off, and got to the ignition barrel. All looks fine (no corrosion or anything). Any thoughts anyone?

They fail internally you won't be able to see the fault unless you dismantle the ignition barrel and if you do that you will probably end up having to replace it anyway as you probably won't be able to see if the contacts are good or not without breaking them when you pull it to bits.

OK, just had a look on eBay. If they fail internally, is it worth getting a second hand one (£30 inc p&p), or should I go for a new one (£80 inc p&p), or is that the gamble I take?

I must say I am impressed by how much more secure the ignition is on the Saab than on other cars I have worked on. It must make them much harder to hotwire and steal.

Well, the part from eBay arrived, and is fitted. I only broke one part and had one part left over, but IT WORKS!!
Let's hope this is the final fix for the issue.
