Subframe Bolts

Hi All,

I'm thinking of replacing the subframe bushes and will probably need to replace the bolts. What is the wisdom for torque? I suspect it is quite serious ...

The manual says 100Nm + 45º.  So yes, probably as tight as you can get it!

The smaller subframe plate is a straight 63Nm. No extra turning.

I'll confess that having done some subframe bushes on an OG, after doing the subframe repair on the NG which required an additional application of the breaker bar to silence it fully, I used the bar to tighten to FT 

The bolts for the rear plates did not get the same amount of leverage, being much smaller

I own at least six 1/2" torque wrenches. 

I simply reused bolts as well, tightening to stretch is more important in engine applications than simple mechanical assembly

I haven't started to get underneath yet, but are there four bolts (M12) or six? Are the bolts for the aft ones different?

Six subframe bolts, six smaller bolts for the plates

16mm 18mm 20mm IIRC

All sorted and everything seems a lot more solid. Next job will be new tyres all round ...
