Further to my recent post, just checked the invoice. All discs and pads, total £151.68 inc VAT. (have to say they sold me them with a bit of discount as I have bought from them for a few years now)  Discs and pads all same maker (Apec) which I suspect is why they are performing so well. Fitted at 78319 miles. Mileage now 94553. Miles covered 16234. Hardly an edge on any of the discs, all smooth. Hardly any visible wear on the pads. I have to say with the greatest respect to the original Saab rear discs and pads which I fitted and only went about 12k miles before becoming badly scored, I am very pleased with these. I did go on to get nearly 24k miles out of the Saab rears in the end, but the discs were shot by then and the pads right down below the recommended thickness. My driving style in all the time I have had the car has not varied.
FWIW!

That's a link to main dealers, clearing stock.  Not always up to date, but often good.

Any ideas what the part number is for the rear discs to fit my 55plate Aero?

Just been looking through my paperwork for the car and it seems that although the car was first registered at the end of March 2006, it's already on its 3rd set of rear discs !!!

My MOT is due at the the end of March and the discs all around are shocking

The 9-3 is hard on rear brakes.  It uses them as part of the stability system.

But they can wear out prematurely if the stability system is confused.  Usual means of confusing it is to have the wheel alignment done without resetting the straight ahead point of the steering wheel sensor.

It list the front discs as 25mm though and other sites list 28mm

Yes, I thought that might have been the case with mine, suggested on the UKSaabs forum. But there has not been any work on the steering, so it wasn't that, I have to assume. These Apec ones are definitely weaing a damn sight better than the Saab rears I fitted. I will report more when the mileage has gone a bit higher.

Just ordered discs and pads for all corners, grand total of £189.75 inc postage

MOT is in 2 weeks and I'm in no fit state to fit them :(

Just hope I only get an advisory on them

Discs and pads arrived today, flipping heck they're heavy

The pads have a nice rough texture instead of the smooth ones I've always fitted

The discs look very weird, where as other discs I've fitted are vented through the twin discs part, these are vented in the same way but also the outside face of the disc is only attached to the vent fins, not direct to the centres.

Can't wait to fit them

Think EBC products had a shake up in 2010.. Was some bad reviews before then. New stuff is meant to be pretty good. IIRC police use yellowstuff in their T5's etc

Fitted my discs and pads yesterday....Defo genuine items including pads.....so £114 represents excellent value (plus a case of Carling for my mechanic friend to fit em and  he cleaned all the calipers etc and lubricated the slides aswell..! )
