Someone at work asked if I knew anyone who wanted to buy a car as they had one surplus to requirements and they didn't want to advertise it. After a couple of days of thinking about it I agreed to buy for what they had it valued at webuyanycar.com - I did get 12 months MOT too as it was due to expire - passed with flying colours.

Would love to know if I can default the climate control to not using the aircon unless I turn it on - any ideas?

Norfolk Jim

Not sure if its the same as on mine (pre dame edna) but we can press and hold the ECON button and it will beep. The aircon only comes in then above a certain temperature. It will tell you in your handbook. The same with rear heater and re-circulated air buttons on my version

Sort of as Norfolk Jim said but try holding the AC-OFF button and see if it bleeps.

No luck. Wonder how much difference ac makes to the MPG?

Try it with and without? You'll soon find it. It's worth keeping the aircon running often though, many a time I've seen aircon go wrong on cars where it wasn't often used.

I'll second what Audax says. As I understand it, if it isn't used, the seals dry up and start to leak (an American friend told  me that). I even run mine in winter for the very purpose of keeping it excercised
